Dental Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is the process of replacing the missing bone to repair defects by use of graft material that maybe autogeneous (bone substitute derived from the same individual receiving the graft), allograft (substitute derived from humans but not the recipient) or xeno grafts (substitutes derived from species other than humans).

The graft material once placed gets reabsorbed by the body and is replaced by natural bone thereby helping in stabilizing and slightly increasing the bone level in the region. It is usually a procedure done after extractions and before the placement of a Dental Implant or during a sinus-lift procedure.
